Chat or Code?

Claude comes in two flavours (Claude Chat or Claude Code)

Claude Chat

This is the normal Claude Chat interface you already use. A Claude Chat skill is just a conversation. You ask for something, Claude answers in the chat using the skill for guidance. Nothing is installed on your computer and Claude never touches your files.

Claude Code

Claude Code is a version of Claude that runs on your computer and can create and change actual files. Some skills need this ability to work properly.

Short version: if the skill just needs to think, write or plan, it is a Claude Chat skill. If it needs to create or modify files on your machine, it is a Claude Code skill.

How to install this skill
  1. Download the .zip above and unzip it.
  2. Move the folder into ~/.claude/skills/ — it should end up as ~/.claude/skills/trail-reels-auto-reposter/SKILL.md.
  3. Restart Claude Code and run /skills to check it's listed.

What it helps you do.

This Claude Skill automatically finds and reposts your best-performing Instagram content as trial reels. After connecting your Dropbox and Instagram account, it pulls up a dashboard of your top-performing videos from the last 30, 60, or 90 days, letting you select up to 5 at a time. The skill then re-encodes those videos (so that the IG algorithm sees them as a new video) and automatically schedules them to be reposted as trial reels, spaced one hour apart, so you can squeeze extra views out of content you've already created. Because of trial reel limitations, you can only post up to 5 videos per day.

⚠️ Heads up: this skill only works for Instagram — not TikTok, YouTube or anything else.
